Vs David Bowie opens in the Panorama gallery at Barnsley Civic today!
See my work and 16 other local artists who have deconstructed Mel Elliott’s David Bowie Colouring Book, with an outcome as varied, vibrant and original as the man himself. The image I chose to deconstruct was from David Bowie’s 1973 #AladdinSane tour, showcasing his collaboration with Japanese designer #KansaiYamamoto. The exhibition runs until 8th April.
There are also two other exhibitions opening at The Civic today:
In the Main Gallery - Fashion & Freedom, a #1418NOW commissioned exhibition which explores the impact that women during the First World War had on fashion design then and now. Newly commissioned works by designers such as #VivienneWestwood, #Roksanda and #SadieWilliams appear alongside new ensembles from fashion colleges around the UK.
Also featured is a display of historical pre and post-war outfits and local #suffragette archives.
On The Staircase - Barnsley College Freshly Pressed. A showcase of print work from students of #BarnsleyCollege, featuring screen prints, etchings, linocut and digital print.
Main Gallery: Tue - Sat 10am - 5pm
Staircase and Panorama: Mon - Sat 10am - 6pm
(and open during theatre performances).
